I loved this book since it revealed so much more about the man himself than previous books I've read about Wilder. Philip Lambert has drawn on unpublished notebooks which Wilder had kept as possible sources for an autobiography that he planned to write but never really got around to doing and occasionally quotes directly from these sources.
